Who is the victim?
12.11.2023 ( Sunday ) ( Deepavali Day)
A real-life event which caught my family by surprise and for me personally, pondering mode...who is the victim?
My father-in-law went to his usual 'makan' place, a Chinese eatery with many food stalls in a corner shop. As sure as the Earth rotates around the Sun, he will be alone sipping his hot cuppa and enjoying his lunch at his favorite table while watching the busy lives of people around him.
On the other hand, I had just finished sharing a Zoom session with my students' mum. We had a great bonding time by sharing ideas on empowering her children in their studies by using a proven effective Online Learning Programme and some of my parenting tips from my experience. I was on cloud nine as we managed to work out a solution to work around her busy schedule. For studying tips: https://tryvschool.vktrend.com/krysttallim
Little did I expect my phone to ring...Well, usually I get calls from property agents, unknown callers...nobody significant...It seems like the trend or just me? People who are in my circle usually will just Whatsapp. To my amazement, on my phone screen "husband"... Haha, after many years of marriage, I don't expect calls from him except for emergencies or when he needs my assistance. Before marriage, even though he knew my phone was on silent mode when I was teaching, he would still call non-stop just to hear my voice. Oops, today is not to lament about marriage...Now, back to the story...
I answered the call...My father-in-law was beaten and currently is at the hospital! I'm to pick him up and to make a police report with him. Thousands of questions were running through my mind...
Immediately, I went to the hospital. He head was wrapped up and had 3 stitches! At the police station in Kulaijaya, We made a report and were directed to meet Inspector Mohd Dzul Hanafie Bin Nasran. This is a summary of my father-in-law's story...He did not know the suspect and had not even talked to him. Out of the blue, the suspect just took a glass cup and struck multiple times on his head!
Within 1 hour, Inspector Mohd Dzul Hanafie Bin Nasran called me and informed me that he had managed to apprehend the suspect. We went to attest the suspect and find out the reason for the brutal attack. Apparently, the suspect admitted that he did not know my father-in-law. He attacked him just because he thought that my father-in-law was thinking of raping his mum whom none of us even knew who is the suspect's mum. The suspect mentioned that his mum was drugged-raped. Inspector mentioned that the suspect's mum could be in a mental condition too as he saw her at the suspect's house.
Clearly, this suspect was having a mental breakdown when he noticed my father-in-law sitting there, at the wrong moment, at the wrong place. It was heartbreaking and alarming to be in my father-in-law's position...getting attacked with no reason at all...What if it was worse, coma or even death?
Hearing the attacker's story, it did overcast my day. His mother was drug-rapped. Both he and his mum did not manage to receive proper treatment and support which caused this unfortunate event to happen. Although I feel truly sorry for them, I had to proceed with the case to prevent innocent people from getting attacked.
A heartfelt thank you for Inspector Mohd Dzul Hanafie Bin Nasran who has managed to apprehend the attacker swiftly.
Stay safe and vigilant.
Blessings,
Krysttal
